Jindal Stainless, one of India’s leading stainless steel manufacturers, has unveiled its innovative Salt Tipper Trailer at the Technical Conclave in Gujarat, the heart of India’s salt industry. This launch promises to transform salt transportation by tackling key challenges like corrosion, high maintenance costs, and shorter trailer lifespans.
The new trailers are made using advanced 304 and JT (N7 as per BIS 6911) grades of stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance, fire safety, and strength. Unlike traditional materials that typically corrode within 3-4 years, Jindal Stainless’ trailers are designed for durability of 15-20 years, with an estimated weight reduction of 25%, potentially saving operators INR 25-30 lakh over a decade.
Following a successful pilot, the trailers have already drawn significant interest from fleet and transport operators in Gujarat and Rajasthan, who are evaluating them for deployment across their fleets.
To ensure quality and scalability, Jindal Stainless is collaborating with certified fabricators, ITI-trained professionals, and stainless steel academies to develop a skilled workforce. The company is also working with industry associations and state logistics bodies to promote the adoption of stainless steel trailers in salt transport and other corrosion-prone sectors.
