AbhiBus, the bus-ticketing arm of ixigo, has rolled out a game-changing feature aimed at improving the way Indians book bus travel. The platform has introduced an industry-first filter called ‘New Buses’, which allows users to easily identify and book newer buses based on their age—a move that promises better transparency, comfort, and confidence while booking.

With this new feature, travellers can now choose between ‘Brand New’ buses (less than one year old) and ‘New’ buses (less than two years old). Each bus listing on the search results page is clearly tagged, helping users spot the newer options with ease.

For a long time, bus travellers in India have had to book tickets without knowing the age or actual condition of the vehicle. This has often led to last-minute bus swaps, unexpected breakdowns, and uncomfortable journeys. AbhiBus is tackling this issue head-on by bringing bus-age visibility to the forefront.

Lenin Kodru, CEO of AbhiBus, shared his thoughts on the update: “We are excited to introduce the ‘New Buses’ filter – a simple yet powerful tool that puts greater control in the hands of travellers. Transparency is the first step toward building trust. When customers know in advance that they’re booking a new bus, they can expect better upkeep, cleaner interiors, and more reliable onboard facilities. This is a big step forward for the industry.”

The launch of the ‘New Buses’ filter builds on AbhiBus’s reputation for customer-first innovations. Features like Abhi Assured already give travellers access to more reliable operators and offer up to 150% refunds in case of major service disruptions—ensuring peace of mind on every journey.
