AbhiBus, the bus ticketing arm of Ixigo, has partnered with Uber to allow users across India to book intercity bus tickets directly within the Uber app. The collaboration aims to expand Uber’s mobility ecosystem while giving travellers access to AbhiBus’s extensive bus network and booking technology.
Through this integration, Uber users can now search, compare and book intercity bus tickets without leaving the app. The service is powered by AbhiBus’s inventory and technology platform, which connects travellers with a nationwide network of more than 6 lakh routes operated by over 6,200 bus operators.
The partnership marks a significant step in bringing multiple modes of transportation into a single digital platform. By adding intercity bus bookings, Uber is expanding beyond its core ride-hailing services and offering users a more comprehensive travel planning experience.
How to book bus tickets in the Uber app
Users can access the new feature by navigating to the Home or Services section in the Uber app and selecting the “Intercity” option. After entering the origin, destination and travel date, travellers can browse through available bus services and select their preferred seats.
Once the seat is chosen, the ticket can be booked directly inside the app using integrated payment options. This eliminates the need to switch between multiple platforms for booking travel.
Access to AbhiBus’s nationwide network
With AbhiBus powering the backend, Uber users gain access to one of the largest bus inventories in India. The platform provides connectivity across more than 6 lakh routes with services run by over 6,200 operators, covering both major cities and smaller towns.
The integration also enables travellers to filter bus options based on their preferences, including AC, Sleeper, Seater, Volvo and Scania buses.

The partnership also brings several additional features aimed at improving the user experience. Travellers can check real-time seat availability, view 360-degree bus photos on select routes, and track the live status of their bus journey.
