Ircon International Limited (IRCON) has announced that it has received a major order worth about Rs 224.5 crore from the North East Frontier Railway (NFR). The contract covers composite works across civil, electrical, mechanical, and signal & telecom divisions, with the overall execution period fixed at 18 months.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the project will focus on three major areas. At New Jalpaiguri, IRCON will upgrade and develop maintenance infrastructure for the energy-efficient Vande Bharat Express at the Coaching Complex. At Siliguri Junction, it will construct a GE loco shed designed to accommodate 250 WDG4G and WDG6G locomotives. In addition, new generation freight maintenance facilities will be created at New Jalpaiguri under the Katihar division of the Northeast Frontier Railway.
The contract, awarded by a domestic entity, is valued at Rs 224,49,98,704.80, which translates to roughly Rs 224.5 crore. IRCON confirmed that the agreement does not fall within related party transactions and that its promoter group has no interest in the awarding authority.
