Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has invested in HIPUS, the Infosys-led joint venture in Japan, marking a key expansion in Infosys’ digital procurement platform. The move reinforces Infosys’ presence in Japan and strengthens HIPUS’ vision of accelerating business process transformation for Japanese corporations.
HIPUS, launched in 2019 and majority-owned by Infosys, offers end-to-end procurement services, combining sourcing expertise and next-generation digital tools. MHI, a longstanding HIPUS customer, will now acquire a 2% equity stake from Infosys to deepen collaboration and pursue new growth opportunities in the region.
Anantha Radhakrishnan, CEO and MD of Infosys BPM and Chairperson of the HIPUS Board, said the partnership underscores Infosys’ commitment to the Japanese market and signals strong momentum in digital business transformation in the region.
MHI’s Isao Miyake emphasized HIPUS’ potential to enhance procurement efficiency through advanced analytics and informed decision-making. Kiyoshi Asami, CEO of HIPUS, highlighted MHI’s value as a strategic client and expressed optimism over the collaboration.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of FY26, ending June 30, 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
