Infosys has announced a strategic collaboration with Cognition to deploy and scale Devin, the world’s first AI software engineer, across enterprise environments globally. The partnership marks a significant step in accelerating AI-led engineering transformation for large organisations, combining Infosys’ enterprise-scale delivery capabilities with Cognition’s advanced autonomous coding technology.
Under the collaboration, Devin will be integrated across Infosys’ internal engineering ecosystem as well as global client engagements. This move follows six months of internal usage, during which Infosys observed measurable improvements in engineering quality, efficiency, and speed of delivery. The rollout is designed to support enterprises seeking faster time-to-market, higher developer productivity, and shorter modernization cycles.
A key pillar of the partnership is Infosys Topaz Fabric, a purpose-built agentic services suite within the broader Infosys Topaz portfolio. Infosys Topaz Fabric is a multi-layer AI architecture that unifies infrastructure, data, models, applications, and workflows into a secure, modular, and composable ecosystem. When combined with Devin’s autonomous engineering capabilities, the platform enables enterprises to adopt AI agents seamlessly across complex software environments.
Devin will be embedded into Infosys’ client delivery models and can also be deployed directly within customer engineering environments. This allows enterprises to use AI-powered virtual engineers for tasks such as brownfield engineering, legacy system modernization, technology debt reduction, and ongoing production support. The collaboration is structured to help organisations address long-standing engineering challenges while maintaining enterprise-grade security and governance.
To support large-scale adoption, Infosys and Cognition are jointly developing shared engineering frameworks and enablement programs. These initiatives are aimed at equipping engineers across industries with the skills and tools needed to leverage the combined capabilities of Infosys Topaz Fabric and Devin effectively. The partnership also includes the creation of industry-specific solutions, AI-native modernization blueprints, and scalable engineering frameworks.
Co-innovation labs and structured enablement programs will play a central role in ensuring secure and responsible deployment of AI agents across regulated and complex industries. By focusing on real-world enterprise use cases, the collaboration is expected to move AI-assisted software engineering from experimentation to production at scale.
Leading the first wave of joint client engagements, Infosys’ Financial Services practice has already begun using Devin to transform engineering delivery across banking, payments, capital markets, insurance, and wealth management. Early adoption in these sectors highlights the potential of autonomous AI engineers to drive efficiency, resilience, and innovation in mission-critical systems.
