India Cements Ltd. announced on Thursday, May 22, that it has successfully completed and stabilised a key de-bottlenecking initiative at its Banswara Cement Works facility in Rajasthan. As a result, the company’s grey cement production capacity has now increased by 0.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), taking the total grey cement capacity to 14.75 mtpa.
In a stock exchange filing, the company stated, “This initiative will result in the company’s grey cement manufacturing capacity increasing to 14.75 mtpa.”
The capacity enhancement comes at a time when the cement industry is witnessing a strong focus on infrastructure and housing demand. This move by India Cements is expected to support its regional supply capabilities and improve operational efficiencies at the Banswara plant.
The company said the update was intended to keep shareholders and investors informed and reaffirmed its commitment to capacity optimisation and growth.
No financial outlay or operational disruption details were shared in the filing.
