Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) announced on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) to foster collaboration in the fields of training, education, research, and capacity building .
The agreement, signed by Shri M. Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning) of HUDCO, and Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Director of IIM Calcutta, aims to leverage the strengths of both institutions for the effective implementation of initiatives related to social housing, urban management, and infrastructure development.
Under the non-binding MoU, both parties will work together to:
- Conduct short-duration and long-term certificate courses on urban management, municipal finance, contract management, and urban infrastructure.
- Develop and deliver training and capacity-building programs aligned with Government of India initiatives.
- Undertake joint research projects, consultancy services, and fee-based assignments on urban governance and sustainable development.
- Promote knowledge exchange through workshops, conferences, and expert interactions .
The partnership is initially valid for three years, with an annual review and the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
HUDCO stated that the MoU reflects its continued efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia and the public sector for sustainable urban development across India.
