Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) has announced its production results for the second quarter (Q2) and first half (1H) of FY26, achieving remarkable milestones in its mining operations. The company recorded its highest-ever second quarter mined metal production of 258,000 tonnes, while first-half mined production reached 523,000 tonnes, up 1% year-on-year (YoY), driven by improved mine grades and enhanced recovery rates.

Refined zinc production remained strong at 202,000 tonnes in Q2, up 2% YoY and stable quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), supported by consistent plant availability. Refined lead production declined to 45,000 tonnes, down 29% YoY and 7% QoQ, impacted by reduced pyro plant availability and specific “lead-only mode” operations in the previous period. Saleable silver production stood at 144 tonnes for Q2, reflecting alignment with lead output, while total silver production for 1HFY26 was 293 tonnes, down 16% YoY due to mining sequence and lower input from certain mines.

In renewable energy, HZL generated 132 million units (MU) of wind power in Q2, up 2% YoY, contributing to 266 MU for the first half, a 12% YoY increase, benefiting from favorable wind conditions and seasonal factors.

These strong production results highlight Hindustan Zinc’s operational efficiency, sustainable practices, and consistent growth in India’s mining sector. The company continues to reinforce its position as a leading producer of zinc, lead, and silver, while expanding its renewable energy footprint.
