Hind Rectifiers Limited has executed an agreement to sell its non-operational manufacturing facility in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for ₹9.5 crore. The move follows the Board of Directors’ earlier approval on November 6, 2025, to dispose of the unit after assessing its lack of operational viability.
The Dehradun plant, set up in 2008 to manufacture rectifiers, inverters and single-phase transformers, has remained idle since July 2023 due to product obsolescence. Most machinery was either relocated to the company’s other facilities or sold, leaving the unit without operational equipment. The company noted factors such as insufficient infrastructure, lack of skilled manpower and the absence of any business requirement to restart operations at the location.
The agreement for the sale was finalised on December 4, 2025. The buyers — Hukum Singh Chauhan, Pratima Saklani and Istkar Ali — have jointly acquired the property. Hind Rectifiers stated that the transaction does not involve any related-party elements and the buyers are not connected to the promoter group.
As per the company’s disclosure, the sale is expected to be completed by April 30, 2026. Hind Rectifiers clarified that the move will not impact its ongoing operations, production schedules or supply commitments, as its remaining plants continue to support business continuity. The company also confirmed that the transaction does not amount to the sale of an undertaking under Section 180(1)(a) of the Companies Act, 2013.
