Hind Rectifiers Limited (Hirect) has announced the sale of its non-operational manufacturing facility located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for Rs 9.50 crore, according to its exchange filing dated December 5, 2025. The sale agreement was executed on December 4, 2025, as disclosed to the NSE and BSE.

The Dehradun unit, set up in 2008 to manufacture rectifiers, inverters, and single-phase transformers, has been non-operational since July 2023 due to product obsolescence. The company noted that all machinery—except for a single distribution transformer—had either been relocated to other facilities or disposed of. The plant currently holds no operational equipment.

Why the plant was sold

Hind Rectifiers stated that the decision to sell stemmed from multiple operational and economic constraints, including:

  • Lack of skilled manpower
  • Insufficient infrastructure
  • No foreseeable business requirement to restart operations

After evaluation, management recommended disposal of the facility. The Board had earlier indicated an estimated sale value between Rs 8.50 crore and Rs 9.50 crore, with the final executed price settling at the upper end of this range.

Buyer details and timeline

The property has been jointly purchased by:

  • Shri Hukum Singh Chauhan
  • Smt Pratima Saklani
  • Shri Istkar Ali

The buyers do not belong to the promoter group or any related group companies, and the transaction does not fall under related-party dealings. The expected completion date for the disposal is April 30, 2026.

Impact on operations

Hind Rectifiers clarified that the sale will not affect ongoing business operations or product supply commitments. The company continues to operate through its other manufacturing plants, ensuring business continuity. It further added that the sale does not constitute disposal of a substantial undertaking under Section 180(1)(a) of the Companies Act, 2013.
