H.G. Infra Engineering Limited, one of the leading infrastructure development companies, has been declared the lowest bidder for a major interstate transmission project in Odisha. The project, titled “Eastern Region Generation Scheme – I (ERGS-I),” is part of India’s broader efforts to enhance power transmission capacity and efficiency across states.
The order has been awarded by PFC Consulting Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited. This significant win was secured through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. Under the terms of the contract, HGINFRA will serve as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) and will execute the project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The scope of work involves establishing critical infrastructure for the interstate transmission system, which is vital for strengthening the regional grid and supporting growing power demand in the eastern region. The project is expected to be completed by March 28, 2028, and includes operation and maintenance responsibilities for a period of 35 years. The annual transmission charges for the project are valued at ₹431.11 million.
This development marks another milestone in HGINFRA’s expanding presence in the power sector, further diversifying its portfolio beyond road and highway infrastructure.
