APM Terminals Pipavav (Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd.) has released its operational data for Q2 FY25, showcasing a mixed performance across different cargo categories. Here are the key highlights from the July-September 2024 period:

Containers: Handled 179,000 TEUs, a decline from 216,000 TEUs in Q2 FY24 but an increase from 165,000 TEUs in Q1 FY25. Total container volume for H1 FY25 stands at 344,000 TEUs compared to 415,000 TEUs in H1 FY24.

Dry Bulk: Managed 0.46 million metric tons (Mn MT) of dry bulk cargo, down from 0.77 Mn MT in Q2 FY24 and 0.55 Mn MT in Q1 FY25. The half-year volume is 1.01 Mn MT, a notable drop from 1.44 Mn MT during the same period last year.

Liquid Bulk: Slight growth in liquid bulk handling with 0.33 Mn MT in Q2 FY25, compared to 0.31 Mn MT in Q2 FY24. The H1 FY25 volume totals 0.67 Mn MT, an improvement from 0.57 Mn MT in H1 FY24.

RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off): A strong rise in RoRo units with 33,000 units handled in Q2 FY25, nearly doubling from 19,000 units in Q2 FY24. The half-year figure also saw a significant jump to 71,000 units from 33,000 units in H1 FY24.

Container trains: Handled 515 trains in Q2 FY25, a drop from 626 trains in Q2 FY24. The total number of container trains handled in H1 FY25 is 995, down from 1,149 trains in H1 FY24.
