Gujarat Ambuja Exports on Friday informed stock exchanges that it has commenced commercial production at its 30,000 tonnes per annum sodium gluconate manufacturing facility located in Hubli, Karnataka.

In a regulatory filing dated December 19, 2025, the company said the plant is India’s first maize starch–based fermentation facility for manufacturing sodium gluconate. Commercial production at the unit began at around 9:45 am on Friday.

The company stated that the commencement of operations marks a key milestone in its strategic expansion into maize fermentation–based products. Gujarat Ambuja Exports noted that it plans to further scale up capacity in this segment by introducing additional fermentation-based products in the coming years.

According to the disclosure, the company is targeting an aggregate installed capacity of 1,20,000 tonnes per annum in maize fermentation–based products by 2028.

The update was disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations and has also been made available on the company’s website.
