Godrej Industries’ Chemicals Business has completed the acquisition of the Food Additives Business from Savannah Surfactants Limited through a formal business transfer. The move aims to enhance Godrej’s presence in the global Food and Beverages sector by expanding its portfolio in speciality chemicals.
Savannah Surfactants Limited, based in Goa, operates a manufacturing facility with a production capacity of 5,200 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of finished products. With this acquisition, the Food Additives Business will now be integrated into Godrej’s Speciality Chemicals segment.
Vishal Sharma, Executive Director and CEO of Godrej Industries (Chemicals), stated, “We are glad to have completed this transaction at the start of the fiscal year. This acquisition is in line with our vision and strategy to grow in a profitable and sustainable manner. The Savannah business will be part of our Speciality chemicals sector. The addition of this Food Additives Business will expand our speciality offerings and build a larger speciality business going forward.”
Godrej Industries is engaged in the manufacturing of oleochemicals, surfactants, speciality chemicals, and biotech products. The recent transaction reflects the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its capabilities in high-value chemical segments and tapping into emerging growth areas within the food industry.
