Godavari Biorefineries Limited (GBL), a leader in renewable chemicals and biofuels, has signed an exclusive license agreement with Catalyxx Inc, a global innovator in sustainable chemistry. This strategic partnership grants GBL the rights to use Catalyxx’s advanced technology to convert ethanol into biobutanol and higher alcohols. The agreement enables GBL to produce up to 30,000 tons annually, with the first phase focusing on a facility capable of producing 15,000 metric tons.
This collaboration underscores GBL’s commitment to decarbonization and innovation in green chemistry. The new facility will serve as a benchmark for the bio-based chemicals industry, positioning GBL at the forefront of sustainable solutions. The partnership also enhances GBL’s product portfolio with renewable, eco-friendly offerings, reinforcing its leadership in the global market.
Samir Somaiya, Chairman and Managing Director of GBL, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership.
