GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) has secured an order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) to deliver more than 70 extra high-voltage transformers and shunt reactors. These 765 kV units will support renewable power evacuation infrastructure across India under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework.

The order, booked through GE Vernova T&D India Limited, a listed entity of GE Vernova’s Electrification business, includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of equipment. Manufacturing will take place at GE Vernova’s transformer facility in Vadodara, Gujarat. Equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through 2027.

This procurement is part of POWERGRID’s bulk equipment strategy aimed at strengthening high-capacity renewable power corridors in states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. These corridors are essential for integrating large volumes of renewable energy into the national grid.

GE Vernova’s Vadodara facility has been producing 765 kV class transformers and reactors since 2009. The site has supplied over 700 units nationwide, contributing to the stability and capacity of India’s transmission infrastructure.
