Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has recently informed exchanges that the company received two contracts from the West Bengal Transport Department to design, build, operate and maintain 13 hybrid electric ferries.
The deal has a total value of roughly INR 226.18 crore (excluding GST). The project includes 100- and 200-passenger ferries with both AC and non-AC options. The deal is scheduled to be executed within 30 months after signing.
GRSE is a balanced, profitable shipyard that was the first in the country to export warships and deliver 100 to the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. The GRSE shipbuilding division consists of the construction of vessels for clients in the defense and shipping industries.
