Eternal Limited, formerly known as Zomato Limited, has announced a significant leadership update with the appointment of Deepinder Goyal as Vice-Chairman and Non-Executive Director. The decision was approved by the company’s board of directors at its meeting held on February 10, 2026, and will be placed before shareholders through a postal ballot, in line with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
The board has also cleared the postal ballot notice for the re-appointment of four Independent Directors, reinforcing continuity and governance stability at the company. These approvals will be communicated to shareholders and stock exchanges, with detailed disclosures provided as per SEBI circular requirements.
Deepinder Goyal’s appointment as Vice-Chairman and Non-Executive Director marks an important governance milestone for Eternal. As the founder and a key architect of the company’s growth journey, his elevation to the vice-chairman role is expected to strengthen long-term strategic oversight while maintaining a clear separation from executive responsibilities.
Alongside this appointment, the board approved the re-appointment of Aparna Popat Ved as Independent Director for a second term of five consecutive years from April 19, 2026 to April 18, 2031. Kaushik Dutta and Namita Gupta were also approved for second terms as Independent Directors, each commencing from March 1, 2026 and continuing until February 28, 2031. The board further approved the re-appointment of Sutapa Banerjee as an Independent Director, along with remuneration for all the re-appointed independent members, subject to shareholder approval.
