Delhivery (NSE: DELHIVERY, BSE: 543529) has announced that it is advancing the development of AI-powered digital mapping solutions tailored specifically to India’s complex geography and unique addressing systems, in collaboration with NVIDIA. The announcement was made at the India AI Summit, highlighting Delhivery’s strategic push to build India-first digital infrastructure using artificial intelligence.

The logistics major plans to leverage NVIDIA accelerated computing, NVIDIA CV-CUDA and NVIDIA Nemotron open models to create highly accurate, scalable and locally relevant digital maps. The initiative will unlock the value of Delhivery’s petabytes of proprietary logistics data accumulated over several years, enabling smarter and more precise location intelligence.

India presents a distinct challenge for traditional mapping platforms that were originally designed for Western markets. Addresses across the country are often unstructured and depend heavily on community landmarks, variable sequencing and local language descriptions rather than standardized global coordinates. Rapid urbanization, evolving neighborhoods and dense, unplanned city layouts further complicate address identification and last-mile delivery.

Through this collaboration, Delhivery aims to use NVIDIA’s open AI models to address critical hurdles such as distinguishing between phonetically similar addresses and localities, interpreting incomplete or informal directions, and improving route optimization in congested urban clusters. By enhancing address disambiguation and contextual understanding, the company seeks to reduce delivery errors and improve efficiency in last-mile operations.

The proposed India-first mapping platform is being designed with a strong focus on performance, scalability and local relevance. Beyond logistics, accurate and intelligent mapping solutions can play a vital role in supporting India’s expanding digital economy, including e-commerce, mobility services, fintech platforms and hyperlocal applications that depend on precise location data.
