Cyient Ltd has taken a strategic step to strengthen its semiconductor business after its Board of Directors approved the acquisition of a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies. The decision was taken at the board meeting held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

The acquisition will be executed through Cyient Semiconductors Singapore Pte. Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited. Under the definitive agreement, Cyient will acquire a majority stake exceeding 65%  in Kinetic Technologies through a cash transaction. The total purchase consideration for the deal has been approved at up to USD 93 million.

Kinetic Technologies is a US-based power semiconductor company incorporated in 2006. The company is known for its strong capabilities in analog and mixed-signal design and focuses on developing high-performance integrated circuits used for efficient power delivery and signal conditioning across global markets. Kinetic operates in the semiconductor industry and caters to a wide range of customers in advanced electronics and computing applications.

From a financial perspective, Kinetic Technologies reported revenue of USD 63 million in calendar year 2023. Revenue declined to USD 37 million in calendar year 2024, while calendar year 2025 is estimated to close with revenue of USD 41 million, based on unaudited financials prepared on a tax basis.

Cyient has clarified that the transaction does not fall under related party transactions and that neither the promoters nor the promoter group entities have any interest in Kinetic Technologies. The company stated that the strategic objective of the acquisition is to drive leadership in custom power integrated circuits for edge artificial intelligence and high-performance computing markets.
