Cyient, a global provider of intelligent engineering solutions, has secured a strategic contract to support the development of a green hydrogen production and distribution facility in Langstranda, Bodø, Norway. The facility is part of a joint venture between GreenH, a Norwegian infrastructure company focused on renewable hydrogen, and Luxcara, a Germany-based asset manager specializing in European renewable energy projects.
The Bodø project aims to supply green hydrogen to Norway’s maritime sector and heavy transport industries. A long-term agreement is in place to provide green hydrogen fuel to Torghatten Nord AS, supporting the operation of the Vestfjorden ferries. The project aligns with Norway’s broader efforts to decarbonize maritime transport.
Construction of the facility began in fall 2024. Cyient’s role includes delivering owner’s engineering and detailed plant engineering services. The company will apply its experience in green and renewable energy to support project execution and lifecycle management.
Espen Lied, COO of GreenH, commented on the collaboration: “We are excited to collaborate with Cyient to bring our hydrogen vision to life in Bodø. With Cyient’s expertise, we’ll complete the detailed engineering of our hydrogen plant and provide the basis for procurement, construction, and installation of our first facility for production and direct bunkering of green hydrogen.”
