Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has announced that it has received a Letter of Empanelment from the Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) for the installation of solar water pumping systems under the central government’s PM-KUSUM scheme.
The company will design, manufacture, supply, transport, install, test, and commission 232 off-grid DC and AC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) of varying capacities—2 HP, 3 HP, 5 HP, and 7.5 HP. The project, valued at around ₹4.76 crore (excluding GST), falls under Component-B of the PM Krishak Mitra Surya Yojana in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the filing, the order is to be completed within 120 days from the issuance of the work order. The solar-powered water pumping systems are aimed at reducing farmers’ dependence on conventional electricity and diesel, promoting the adoption of renewable energy solutions in agriculture.
Crompton confirmed that the project does not involve any related party transactions and is a domestic order. The contract underscores the company’s increasing focus on clean energy solutions in line with India’s broader renewable energy goals.
