Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has received a fresh order-related boost after the company informed exchanges that it has been empanelled by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for executing solar photovoltaic water pumping system projects under the MTSKPY / PM-KUSUM scheme across Maharashtra.

As per the regulatory disclosure, Crompton Greaves has secured an EPC contract for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 2,000 Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) along with PV modules. The total value of the work order stands at ₹46.20 crore, excluding GST. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not fall under related-party transactions.

The project will be executed under the government-backed PM-KUSUM scheme, which aims to promote the use of solar energy in agriculture while reducing farmers’ dependence on conventional electricity and diesel. The installations will be carried out at multiple locations across the state of Maharashtra, supporting sustainable irrigation and rural electrification initiatives.

Crompton Greaves is required to complete the execution within 60 days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed or work order. The relatively short execution timeline highlights the company’s operational readiness and experience in handling large-scale electrical and renewable energy projects.
