Container Corporation of India (Concor) has placed an order with GATX India Pvt. Ltd. for the supply of 10 rakes of BLSS wagons on an operating lease for a period of 10 years. The order, valued at ₹192 crore (excluding GST), is expected to enhance Concor’s logistics and freight capabilities.
GATX India Pvt. Ltd., a domestic entity, will supply these wagons under the agreed terms, with a delivery timeline of 435 days. This move aligns with Concor’s long-term strategy to strengthen its rail freight infrastructure, ensuring efficient cargo transportation across the country.
The leasing model offers a cost-effective solution for Concor, allowing it to expand its fleet without incurring high capital expenditure. The deal is purely a business transaction, with no involvement of the promoter group or related party transactions. By partnering with a well-established player like GATX India, Concor aims to optimize operational efficiency and meet the growing demand for rail-based freight services.
