Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has secured a mega order from a prominent European client for the design and construction of six 1,700 TEU LNG-fuelled feeder container vessels, the company informed in a regulatory filing dated October 14, 2025.
A Letter of Intent (LOI) for the project has been signed, with a formal shipbuilding contract to follow soon, detailing the techno-commercial terms. The order is classified as ‘Mega’, indicating a total value of over Rs 2,000 crore under CSL’s internal classification system.
Cochin Shipyard clarified that none of its promoters or group companies have any interest in the awarding entity, and the deal does not qualify as a related-party transaction.
This marks another milestone for CSL in expanding its international shipbuilding portfolio, strengthening its position in the global LNG-powered vessel market.
