Coal India Limited (CIL) has reported an 8.5% year-on-year decline in coal production for June 2025, with total output standing at 57.8 million tonnes compared to 63.1 million tonnes in June 2024. The company shared the provisional production and offtake data in a regulatory filing on July 1, 2025.
Offtake during June 2025 also dropped 4.5% year-on-year to 60.4 million tonnes, down from 63.3 million tonnes in the same month last year.
For the first quarter of FY26 (April–June 2025), Coal India’s total production stood at 183.3 million tonnes, reflecting a 3.2% decline from 189.3 million tonnes reported in the same period last year. Meanwhile, offtake for the quarter fell 4.5% year-on-year to 190.1 million tonnes.
The company attributed the decline to lower output from key subsidiaries like Eastern Coalfields, Bharat Coking Coal, and Central Coalfields. This update was released in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
