CESC Limited announced that its subsidiary, Purvah Green Power Private Limited, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for setting up a 300 MW solar power project with an energy storage system (ESS) under SECI’s 2,000 MW ISTS-connected solar PV initiative.

The project is part of the tariff-based competitive bidding process for the procurement of firm and dispatchable power from grid-connected renewable energy projects with ESS, as per the Ministry of Power’s guidelines issued on June 9, 2023. The contract period is 25 years from the scheduled commencement of supply.

The project will supply power at a tariff rate of Rs 2.86 per kWh, marking another major renewable push for the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group’s energy arm. The contract is purely domestic, awarded by SECI, with no related-party involvement.

This development strengthens CESC’s renewable energy portfolio and aligns with India’s long-term energy transition strategy aimed at achieving greater grid stability through integrated storage-backed solar power.
