CESC Limited has come into focus after its wholly owned subsidiary, CESC Green Power Ltd, revealed plans for a major renewable energy and manufacturing expansion.
According to the company’s filing, CESC Green Power is setting up solar cell and module manufacturing facilities with a capacity exceeding 3 GW, alongside battery production, a 60 MW renewable power plant, and multiple ancillary units across India. The estimated total investment for the project is pegged at up to ₹5,000 crore.
CESC has assured full financial backing for its subsidiary to ensure timely implementation. This support will include equity infusion, strategic assistance, and facilitation of institutional funding.
The move underscores CESC’s growing push into green energy and value-chain integration, aligning with India’s broader clean energy transition.
