Bodhitree Multimedia Limited has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth ₹500 crore with the Government of Assam to develop a cutting-edge Global Media, Cultural, and Film Hub in Guwahati. Signed on 26th February 2025 and formally announced on 8th April, the partnership marks Bodhitree’s second major production facility in India, aiming to transform Guwahati into a global destination for entertainment and cultural tourism.
The ambitious project includes a world-class Media City, a luxury seven-star wellness resort, and an immersive India Pavilion to celebrate the nation’s rich cultural heritage. These facilities are designed to attract international productions and boost Assam’s visibility on the global media map. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance Assam’s economy, create employment opportunities, and position the state as a key player in the entertainment industry.
Mautik Tolia, Managing Director of Bodhitree Multimedia, said, “We are proud to partner with the Government of Assam to establish a world-class ecosystem that will position Assam as a global hub for media, sports, and wellness.” He emphasized that the initiative would drive international tourism and foster long-term economic development in the region.
Bodhitree Multimedia, which has over 3,000 hours of content across 50+ shows for major OTT platforms and broadcasters, plans to expand such initiatives across India as part of a broader effort to position the country as a global content creation powerhouse.
This MoU is expected to be a transformative step for the Northeast, fostering innovation, economic growth, and cultural exchange.
