Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has recently informed exchanges that the company secured a major contract from Adani Power Limited (APL), further strengthening its position in the Indian power equipment manufacturing sector. The company has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from APL for the supply and supervision of equipment for six thermal power units, each with a generation capacity of 800 MW.

According to BHEL, the scope of the contract includes the supply of Steam Turbine Generator (STG) sets along with auxiliaries, and supervision during erection and commissioning of the equipment. The total value of the order is estimated to be around ₹6,500 crore, excluding GST.

This is a domestic order and has been awarded by Adani Power, an Indian power generation company. The execution of the project will follow timelines based on the customer’s project-specific requirements.

BHEL has clarified that this contract does not fall under the category of related party transactions, and there is no interest held by its promoter group or group companies in Adani Power. The company has not provided specific timelines but stated that the execution will be aligned with the requirements of Adani Power’s project plans.
