Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has announced that it has secured an order worth ₹22.87 crore, inclusive of GST, from Indian Railways’ South Western Railway.

The order involves the design, development, supply, installation, trial, and commissioning of on-board Kavach equipment in locomotives, as well as trackside Kavach systems at stations, level crossings, intermediate block (IB), and automatic block signaling (ABS) locations.

BHEL confirmed that the Kavach equipment will be manufactured at its Bengaluru plant, with the project scheduled to be executed within 18 months.

The company clarified that this is a domestic order, awarded through a letter of intent received on September 11, 2025, and does not fall under related-party transactions.
