BEML Limited, a leading public sector company under the Ministry of Defence, has signed three non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹350 crore with Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL). These agreements aim to strengthen India’s self-reliance in the dredging sector under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission.

As part of the MoUs, BEML and DCIL will collaborate on multiple fronts, including the construction of five Inland Cutter Suction Dredgers of varying capacities. The partnerships also cover the supply of cable dredgers and long-reach excavators equipped with dredge pumps, tailored for dredging and de-siltation of dams, reservoirs, and lakes across the country.

Additionally, BEML will supply indigenous spares for DCIL’s dredgers, further supporting domestic manufacturing and reducing dependence on imports.

The company stated that these collaborations are part of its normal course of business, aligning with its long-term strategy to expand its footprint in the marine and infrastructure sectors while promoting indigenous production and sustainable development.
