Ather Energy has expanded its international footprint with the launch of its family electric scooter Rizta in Sri Lanka. The announcement was made through a press release filed with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE on Friday, November 21, 2025.

The launch took place at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, marking Ather’s second major rollout in the country after the Ather 450X. The company is partnering with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd, its authorised distributor in Sri Lanka.

According to the document, Ather has rapidly expanded its presence in Sri Lanka since entering the market in December 2024, and now operates 40 Ather Experience Centres across the country—an aggressive expansion for its EV ecosystem. The brand has also deployed Ather Grid fast chargers, aimed at boosting convenient charging access for customers.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, said the strong response to the 450 lineup encouraged the company to introduce the Rizta, which has already gained traction in India and Nepal. He added that the scooter’s safety features and connected tech make it suitable for Sri Lankan conditions.

The Rizta comes equipped with a 34-litre under-seat storage, a spacious floorboard, and safety features such as SkidControl™. The Rizta Z variant includes smart features like Google Maps integration, music control and call management through its 7-inch TFT display.

Ather now operates the largest two-wheeler fast-charging network in India, with 4,282 chargers installed domestically and 40 chargers across Nepal and Sri Lanka as of September 30, 2025.

The company continues to strengthen its international growth strategy, with Sri Lanka becoming a key market in its expansion plan following successful launches in Nepal and India.
