Ashoka Buildcon Limited has announced that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the President of India, acting through the Chief Electrical Engineer (Project), North Western Railway, Jaipur, for a major railway infrastructure project. The accepted project cost stands at ₹539.35 crore, including GST.
According to the company’s filing with the stock exchanges, the project involves the upgradation of the existing electric traction system from 1 x 25 kV to 2 x 25 kV, along with modifications to the Over Head Equipment (OHE) for enabling train operations at speeds of up to 160 kmph.
The project will cover several key railway sections in the Ajmer Division of North Western Railway, including AII–COR, COR–UDZ, MD–BWA, and BWA–PNU, spanning a total of 660.81 route kilometers (RKM) or 1,200.85 track kilometers (TKM).
The scope of work includes design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded traction system. The execution period is 24 months from the date of issuance of the LoA.
Ashoka Buildcon clarified that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity, and there is no related-party transaction or promoter interest involved in this contract.
