Ashoka Buildcon Limited has announced that it has secured a major contract worth ₹499.95 crore (including GST) from the North Western Railway, Jaipur. The order has been awarded by the President of India acting through the Chief Electrical Engineer (CEE/Project/NWR).
The scope of the project covers the upgradation of the existing electric traction system from 1 x 25 kV to 2 x 25 kV, along with modifications of the overhead equipment (OHE) to support train operations at speeds of up to 160 kmph.
The work involves design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning across key sections of the Jaipur Division, namely RE-AWR-BKI, BKI-JP, JP-FLMD, and RE-RGS-FL. The project spans approximately 581.43 route kilometers (RKM) and 1210.82 track kilometers (TKM).
The contract, which has a completion timeline of 24 calendar months, is a significant addition to Ashoka Buildcon’s growing portfolio in the railway electrification segment. The company has been actively diversifying into large-scale infrastructure projects beyond roads and highways, with railway works emerging as an important growth driver.
