Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS), a prominent defence and aerospace technology company, has announced a major greenfield expansion project in Telangana that is set to redefine its position in India’s fast-growing defence manufacturing ecosystem. The company, along with its subsidiaries, is undertaking this strategic initiative to elevate its role as a key contributor to the country’s defence production landscape.
The new project will establish advanced, state-of-the-art facilities capable of producing and filling warheads for missiles, manufacturing rocket motors, and developing small, medium, and large calibre artillery systems. It will also support the end-to-end development of ammunition systems for artilleries, rockets, and other armaments. With this expansion, AMS aims to significantly scale its production capacity while enhancing precision, reliability, and indigenous technological development.
This move marks one of the largest expansions in AMS’s history and positions the company at the forefront of India’s rapidly accelerating defence and aerospace manufacturing sector. The company expects the new facilities to strengthen its supply chain, broaden its technological capabilities, and support both domestic and global demand for advanced defence systems.
The initiative is fully aligned with the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, which encourages self-reliance and indigenous defence production. AMS’ expanded capabilities will play a larger role in reinforcing national security by delivering high-precision, high-reliability systems designed and manufactured entirely in India.
As part of this ambitious project, AMS and its group companies will invest approximately ₹1,500 crore. This substantial commitment highlights the company’s long-term vision of supporting India’s defence modernisation goals and contributing to the country’s strategic technological independence.
