Afcons Infrastructure Limited has achieved a major milestone in its international expansion by emerging as the lowest bidder for two substantial road construction contracts in Croatia. Awarded by Croatian Motorways Ltd, these projects are part of the critical Metković–Dubrovnik sector of the A1 Motorway, which connects key cities like Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik.
The first contract, Package J324/23, involves the construction of a 9-kilometre stretch between Rudine and Slano and carries an estimated value of €240.59 million, which is approximately ₹2,398 crore.
The second, Package J325/23, covers 11.5 kilometres between Slano and Puo Mravinjac and is valued at €214.45 million, or roughly ₹2,137.44 crore. Both projects are structured on a BOQ/item rate basis and are expected to be completed within 42 months.
This combined win, totalling over ₹4,535 crore, significantly enhances Afcons’ global order book and highlights its growing presence in the European infrastructure space. The contracts are not only financially substantial but also strategically important, as they form part of a major transportation corridor aimed at improving regional connectivity in southern Croatia.
In the meantime, Afcons Infrastructure shares ended the day at ₹415.85, slightly down from the opening price of ₹419.50. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹423.10 and a low of ₹415.30. Currently, Afcons trades closer to its 52-week low of ₹398.00, significantly below its 52-week high of ₹570.00.
