Afcons Infrastructure has officially been declared the lowest bidder for the construction of Package BH-05 of the Bhopal Metro Phase 1 project.
With a bid of ₹1006.74 crore, Afcons will oversee the construction of 13 elevated stations, a viaduct, and a ramp leading to the Subhash Nagar Depot, which will also serve the Orange Line connecting Karond Circle to AIIMS.
The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) initiated the bidding process, with funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) through a €400 million loan. The ambitious project aims to enhance Bhopal’s urban transit and improve connectivity across the city.
Construction is set to be completed within three years, marking a significant step towards modernizing Bhopal’s public transportation infrastructure.
