Action Construction Equipment Limited (ACE), the world’s largest Pick-n-Carry crane maker and one of India’s strongest names in material handling and construction equipment, has teamed up with Sanghvi Movers Limited, Asia’s biggest and the world’s fifth-largest crane rental company, through a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership is aimed at sharply increasing the adoption of Indian-manufactured heavy slew cranes—particularly truck cranes and crawler cranes—across key infrastructure and industrial projects in the country.

The agreement marks an important step in advancing the Government of India’s “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” mission, especially in relation to the “Make in India” programme. Both companies intend to push medium-term cooperation that will strengthen the market presence of domestically produced heavy lifting equipment, helping reduce reliance on imported cranes while accelerating the development of India’s own engineering capabilities.

As part of the MoU, Sanghvi Movers will gradually scale up its fleet by integrating heavy cranes built by ACE. This shift will support the expansion of local manufacturing and is expected to improve the efficiency, speed, and reliability of large-scale project execution across the country. ACE, on its part, will focus on delivering strong product support, offering customised solutions, and refining its technical offerings to meet the evolving requirements of India’s fast-growing infrastructure landscape.

The collaboration is also likely to drive meaningful import substitution, encourage the growth of domestic supply chains, and create opportunities in employment, skill development, and technology advancement. With India witnessing a rapid surge in infrastructure spending—from renewable energy and industrial corridors to ports, highways, and metro networks—the partnership positions both companies to play a significant role in shaping the country’s heavy-lifting ecosystem.
