ABB India is reinforcing its presence in the country with a major investment of over ₹140 crore to modernize and expand its Low Voltage (LV) motors manufacturing facility. This move highlights India’s growing importance as a hub for global innovation and technological excellence.

Alongside this investment, ABB has launched its IE5 ultra-premium efficiency motors, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to industrial energy efficiency and sustainability. These motors, with power ratings ranging from 45 kW to 1000 kW, are India’s first IE5 motors built on proven induction motor technology. Importantly, they are free from rare-earth metals and are designed for high performance and reliability in even the most demanding industrial environments.

Engineered specifically for Indian operating conditions, ABB’s IE5 motors function seamlessly with both Direct-On-Line (DOL) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems. This makes them ideal for industries including metals, cement, textiles, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, and paper. With up to 40% lower energy losses compared to IE3 motors, these motors offer faster ROI, reduced total cost of ownership, and a longer operating life.

This latest investment and product launch not only strengthen ABB’s 75-year legacy in India but also set new benchmarks in energy efficiency, technological excellence, and sustainable industrial growth.
