BlackRock is set to invest $678 million in British data center infrastructure through a new joint venture with Digital Gravity Partners, according to a report by Sky News. The investment will be part of a series of major agreements expected to be announced during US President Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK next week.
The venture will focus on acquiring and modernising existing data centers to significantly enhance their capacity. With growing global demand for AI, cloud services, and digital infrastructure, the project aims to strengthen the UK’s positioning as a hub for next-generation computing power.
According to sources, BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Fink, along with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, will officially make the announcement during the visit.
This move marks another large-scale push by global investment and technology leaders into data infrastructure, reflecting the increasing need for robust, AI-ready facilities across Europe.
