The Bengaluru-based BEML has secured an order from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), as gained from a regulatory filing. With this, the total contract value has climbed up to 4318 crore rupees approximately from the existing 3817 crore rupees approximately. BEML should deliver the order before August 2023 as reported in a regulatory filing.
BEML Limited (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) was established in May 1964 as a Public Sector Undertaking for manufacture of Rail Coaches & Spare Parts and Mining Equipment at its Bangalore Complex. The Company operates under three major Business verticals viz., Mining & Construction, Defence and Rail & Metro. The company has achieved indigenisation levels of over 90 percent in the mainline mining and construction products and rail coaches and EMUs, over 80 percent in high mobility vehicles and over 65 percent in metro cars.

To further enhance indigenisation, BEML has welcomed “expression of interest” for manufacturing and technology partnerships with reputed global OEMs aiming for expansion of supply chains/ establishing base/to secure manufacturing base in India for manufacturing of various goods and/or service business in the area of defence and aerospace, rail and metro and mining and construction, engines and aggregates with the overarching objective of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, according to him. At 0922 hours, BEML was quoting at Rs 663.70, up Rs 8.30, or 1.27 percent on the BSE.
