Balkrishna Industries has received an income tax assessment order for the financial year 2023-2024, demanding ₹52.11 crores. The order, issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle 3(2), Mumbai, was received by the company on 19th March 2026.
The assessment order was passed under section 143(3) read with section 144C(3) of the Income-Tax Act, 1961. Despite the substantial demand, Balkrishna Industries stated that there is no impact on its financial, operational, or other activities. The company plans to contest the order at a higher appellate level.
