Bajaj Electricals Limited has successfully overturned a tax demand of Rs 22.89 lakh following an appellate order. The Office of the Appellate Joint Commissioner of State Tax in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Telangana, issued the order on 11 May 2026, favouring the company.
The original demand was raised by the GST Authority under Section 73 of the CGST/TGST Act, 2017, concerning alleged excess Input Tax Credit claimed during the financial year 2019-20. This included a general penalty of Rs 2.08 lakh. The appellate order accepted Bajaj Electricals‘ submissions, leading to the cancellation of the entire demand.
The company confirmed that the order has no impact on its operational, financial, or other activities. Bajaj Electricals has requested that the information be recorded as compliance under the SEBI Listing Regulations.
