Bajaj Electricals has received an adverse order in appeal from the Joint Commissioner, Secunderabad, Telangana, regarding a demand of ₹16.42 lakh. The order, dated 15 May 2026, dismissed the company’s appeal against a previous order alleging excess input tax credit (ITC) claims during FY 2019-20.
The initial order, issued on 31 August 2024 by the GST Authority, included a general penalty of ₹1.49 lakh. Bajaj Electricals is now considering legal options, including filing an appeal before an appellate tribunal or initiating writ proceedings before the High Court.
The company stated that the financial impact of the order would be limited to the demand and penalty imposed. There is no expected impact on the operational, financial, or other activities of Bajaj Electricals.
