Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has announced the reappointment of Ms. Rama Bijapurkar as an Independent Director for a second term. Her current tenure is set to expire on 12th November 2026. The decision, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, was approved by the Board of Directors on 20th May 2026. Bijapurkar will serve another five-year term from 12th November 2026 to 11th November 2031, pending shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
Ms. Rama Bijapurkar is a well-regarded thought leader in business-market strategy and the Indian consumer economy. Her extensive career spans four decades, focusing on enhancing customer centricity in business strategy and public policy. She has served as an independent board director for several prominent Indian companies across various sectors, including financial services, IT, energy, and consumer packaged goods.
Bijapurkar is also involved with advisory groups and governing councils of leading academic institutions and regulatory bodies. She is a visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and has been influential in India’s business and policy discussions through her media columns and public speaking engagements.
Bijapurkar holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Physics from Delhi University and a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Her professional experience includes roles at McKinsey & Company, MARG (now Nielsen India), and Mode Services (now TNS India), alongside her own consulting practice.
