New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Supreme Court in its judgement on Tuesday, set aside all previous orders of the Delhi High Court in connection with the disputes involving Future group against Amazon, and asked the Delhi High Court to decide all issues afresh on merits.

“Delhi High Court’s adverse orders against Reliance-Future deal are set aside,’ the three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana said, in its judgement. The Supreme Court had on January 11 reserved its judgement after hearing the detailed arguments and submissions from all the respective parties. While setting aside the Delhi High Court’s orders, the Supreme Court said, we direct the high court judges to consider the matter “on merits without adhering to observations made herein.”

Future Coupons Pvt Ltd (FCPL) and Future Retails had challenged the October 29 Delhi High Court’s order which refused to provide any relief on Future Retail’s appeal. The Future Group had sought a stay on the enforcement of the October 25, 2020, SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre) emergency arbitrator award, which was upheld by SIA arbitration tribunal on October 21. The Delhi High Court on February 2, last year, ordered Future Group to maintain the status quo in connection with the proposed 247.13 billion ($3.38 billion) deal with Reliance Industries Ltd until the court passed its order in the matter.
