Air India has introduced a new global inflight menu across its fleet, offering travellers an expanded selection of Indian regional dishes, international favourites and geo-specific signature options. The refreshed menu is now available on most international ex-India routes and will be rolled out progressively across all international and domestic sectors.

The airline said the new offerings draw inspiration from India’s culinary heritage—from the royal kitchens of Awadh to southern coastal flavours—while incorporating global influences such as Pan-Asian and European Bistro cuisines. The menu is designed to appeal to diverse traveller profiles through a mix of region-inspired meals and global dishes.

Passengers across cabin classes will experience upgraded dining. First Class guests will be served gourmet meals, artisanal breads, signature desserts and premium wine pairings. Business Class will feature multi-course customisable meals with curated beverages, while Premium Economy and Economy travellers will receive enhanced trays offering wholesome, regionally familiar options.

Key highlights of the new menu include Awadhi Paneer Anjeer Pasanda, Murgh Massalam, a South Indian platter, Japanese Teppanyaki Bowl, citrus tiger prawns, chicken bibimbap, matcha delice, homestyle dal-khichdi and a range of vegan, gluten-free and allergen-conscious meals. Chef Sandeep Kalra curated the menu as part of Air India’s ongoing transformation programme, which includes upgraded aircraft, new cabins and enhanced onboard service. Cabin crew have undergone specialised training to elevate the inflight dining experience.

“At the very core, the new food and beverage enhancements draw inspiration from Air India’s commitment to continuous innovation and transforming the customer experience,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India. He added that the redesigned menu caters to a global audience and focuses on culinary excellence and customer care.

Air India will offer more than 18 special meal types, placing it among the few airlines worldwide with such extensive dietary options. Travellers can pre-select meals through the Air India app, which also provides chef’s notes, allergen details and customisation options.

The airline said the new menu has been developed with a focus on sustainability. It incorporates responsible sourcing, use of seasonal local produce, compostable packaging, reduced single-use plastics and waste-segregation practices aimed at lowering the carbon footprint.

The launch comes as part of the broader Vihaan.AI transformation programme underway across the Air India group, which includes fleet renewal, induction of new aircraft, a full cabin redesign and expansion of training and maintenance infrastructure.
