Adani Green Energy has provided an update on the ongoing legal proceedings involving its key management personnel, Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani, in the United States. The case, a civil complaint filed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (US SEC), is currently before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
According to the latest communication, both the US SEC and the Adanis have submitted a request for the entry of a final judgment on consent to the court. This request was filed on 15 May 2026, India time, corresponding to 14 May 2026, New York time. The final judgment from the court is still pending.
The civil complaint, identified as No. 24-CV-08080, was originally filed by the US SEC against Mr. Gautam Adani and Mr. Sagar Adani. The Adanis have agreed to the entry of the final judgment without admitting or denying the allegations made in the complaint. As part of the consent judgment, Mr. Gautam Adani and Mr. Sagar Adani have agreed to pay civil penalties of USD 6 million and USD 12 million, respectively.
Adani Green Energy has reiterated that the company itself is not a party to this proceeding, and no charges have been brought against it.
